About Us
Copper River Farm is an eco-friendly family farm owned and operated by Jim, Liz, and Kim Kelderhouse. We specialize in growing a large selection of cut flowers consisting of annuals, perennials, and woody branches. We strive to bring you a variety of long lasting, fragrant, and showy blooms. The varieties are selected for their design potential, long stem length, and vase life. Each flower is hand picked by the grower for its exceptional quality. We maintain soil and plant health without chemicals to ensure our flowers are of the highest quality and safe to work with. We provide them fresh cut for weddings events and home decorating. Copper River Farm serves north west Michigan from may through october. Our flowers are available to local florists, designers, event planners, and to the public at area farmers markets.
Copper River Farm is located in Leelanau county where the Kelderhouse family has roots in local history and agriculture. We are committed to protecting the regions land, water, economy, and community for the next generation. Jim Kelderhouse has over 15 years of experience growing specialty cut flowers using organic and sustainable practices. At one time Copper River Farm was certified organic but because of the complications and expenses, we are no longer certified as such. We are happy to call ourselves natural and sustainable, since we do not use chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or fungicides.
